Boy shot with BBs; pastor charged

A Des Moines pastor shot a mentally disabled boy with a BB gun after he ignored the pastor's warning not to knock on his door, police said Tuesday. Police say the mentally disabled youth knocked on the pastor's door after being told to stop. Investigators say the boy was shot twice in the buttocks. His parents noticed the wounds Monday night. What? Why? Has this guy lost his mind?
What made him think that this was an appropriate response to knock on the door, even if it did wake him up.
He used to be a cop. Call the police if you need this kid to be escorted home and off of your property.
Grrrr.
Using a B-B gun indicates that this guy was not in any way in fear of his life or the life of any family member. This guy was just being mean and sadistic in abusing a person that could not really fight back. Also, if he was a cop he has had some training in defense with his hands, knives and firearms. People with such training have a greater responsibility to not use their abilities and skills except in grave circumstances.
This is one of those stories that when I read it I just wish out loud that I would have loved to have been there with a jar of mustard so this guy could have had some taste to his B-B gun when I made him eat it.
