KFC asks Vatican for a Papal blessing…No really!

[From The Baltimore Business Journal]

In time for the Lenten season, the Kentucky-based company has introduced the Fish Snacker, made of Alaskan Pollack, tartar sauce and a sesame bun. It costs 99 cents.

KFC, a unit of Louisville-based Yum Brands Inc. (NYSE: YUM), said company President Gregg Dedrick has sent a letter to the Vatican asking for a papal blessing of the sandwich. According to a news release, the Vatican has confirmed receipt of the letter, but as of yet, no blessing has been bestowed.

Read about it here.

[From me]

Humm… I wonder if we can get a Nashville Vatican (Lifeway) blessing on Starbucks? :)

  1. Does Starbucks practice total submersion (dunking) of the donut in the coffee or is pouring or sprinkling permitted? This may make a difference on the blessing.

  2. Perhaps a Papal blessing might make Starbucks coffe a little more palatable?:)

  3. Starbuck’s blessing is probably out of the questions, since Wade Burleson implied that drinking caffeine is a cardinal sin.

  4. I think caffiene might prompt speaking in tongues. Or some other form of jittery babbling…

  5. Yummy, yummy, yummy. What a clever stunt for publicity, for a sandwich that is likely overloaded with trans fats.
