What I dig about Jesus. (I feel like I’m back in the 1970′s)
1. Jesus loved us enough to come to earth as a man.
2. Jesus forgives us for our sins.
3. Jesus has patience for recovering legalists like me.
4. Jesus didn’t leave us with out power when He went to heaven–He gave us the Holy Spirit.
5. Jesus uses imperfect people like me.
I tag:
1. His endless patience and grace with a screwup like me.
2. How He continues to show me hope through his work in the hearts of youth (who have no reason other than Him to have hope).
3. Sense of humor. My prayer life is never dull.
4. I love that he surrounded Himself with a rag tag bunch of lunkheaded disciples (like middle schoolers) and loved them in spite of themselves.
5. I love His heart towards the underdogs. Who else would give the responsibility of starting the church to the aforementioned lunkheads?

I just thought about this one… because He first loved me. That never ceases to be amazing.
Here are my responses:
1. That he works in me to conform me into his image.
2. Jesus understood that some people were born asexual (see Matthew 19:11-13), though that does not refer to me.
3. Jesus affirmed the 1 Isaiah theory, quoting from both sections of Isaiah and claiming to quote from Isaiah.
4. Jesus came not to make me more spiritual, but to help me to be more human, the human that Adam and Eve were created to be.
5. That he modeled obedience for us.

Here’s what I dig about Jesus
1. I dig the fact that Jesus is not ashamed to call me His brother
2. I dig the fact that He understands my struggle and temptation because He was tempted in every way, yet without sin
3. I dig the fact that though my sins are as scarlet, they will be made as white as snow
4. I dig the fact that not only is the master builder making me dwelling place in His house, He is also the master tailor making me robes to wear when all I have are filthy rags. A crib and some threads… I’m set.
5. I dig the fact that while I was still His enemy, Christ died for me.
