The ESPN contest says it is based on “on-field success” and “off-field buzz”. In other words, since Kevin didn’t really clarify what he meant for his contest as to “who’s now”, it seems to me that has to do with what you are writing, if people are talking about that, or about you in general.
So sure, it has to do with your body of work, but it is not “who’s last year” it is “who’s now” so I assume it has to do with current work, not last years recitation of convention rules for instance.
I would say you are right to worry though. You are posting penguin scupltures … Bryan is posting about miraculous healings and people being saved by the droves. Whew! You sure pulled a tough competitor this time!
Of course I have to compete with the guy who designs blogs, so I figure I’m pretty much toast as there’ll probably be inside bribery running on that one (vote for David and he’ll make your blog cooler than anyone else’s … or something like that).
