This has to be one of the most idiotic laws I’ve ever seen. Now the Police have to cultivate seized pot because it might be “medical.” Something is wrong here. I see way too many people taking advantage of this.

Watch the guy who says he would be glad to help the police grow the pot. Unbelievable!

His religion has gone to pot…

24 11 2007

[Courant.com]

A Norwich man’s religious beliefs were not enough to reduce his jail time for marijuana possession. Vernon Smith, 43, is a Rastafarian who believes his use of pot is a God-given right. He had pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of marijuana with intent to sell after police found him with more than 20 pounds of the drug in July.

Oh my.  What passage of Scripture does he use to support his beliefs?  Why do people use God and religion to justify their bad behavior?

“Like wow! they took the good stuff!

22 09 2007

[CBS 13]

Ernie Vesie says he needs his weed. He and his wife Roni have a legal prescription to use the medicinal marijuana. Ernie suffered a painful stroke, and Roni is recovering from major stomach surgery. The two say it eases their pain.

“They just came and took the stuff out the backyard, and adios,” said Ernie.

There is not much left of Ernie and Roni’s stash, so they’re smoking what they can.

“Breaks my heart they took all the good stuff,” said Ernie.

Who needs to make up stories. I guess their week has gone to “pot.”

Will they ever grow up?

11 05 2007

[From Yahoo sports]

Former NFL rushing champion Ricky Williams tested positive again for marijuana last month, which will delay his return to the league until at least September, a person familiar with the case said Friday. Williams sought to end a one-year drug suspension last month when he asked to rejoin the Miami Dolphins.

Michael Vick has distanced himself from an alleged dog fighting operations.

The Atlanta Falcons quarterback refused today to discuss the case, and he has reportedly sold the house in Virginia that was the center of the dog fighting controversy.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell already met with Vick and could impose a suspension if it’s shown that he knew about dozens of mistreated dogs that allegedly were used for fighting.

The animals were found at a home owned by Vick in Smithfield, though he said previously that he rarely went to the house. He has had drug issues too.

I dreamed of playing in the NFL but there wasn’t much need for a slow white cornerback. The pro athletes are given so much money it is amazing. They don’t know what to do with their fame and money. Josh Hancock of the St. Louis Cardinals was killed 2 weeks ago in a car accident. Turns out he was drunk and had marijuana in the SUV he was driving. Sad.

Will these athletes grow up and realize the privilege they have in playing pro sports? What a waste of talent.

Who is their pastor? Cheech or Chong?

23 03 2007

[From LA Times]

A minister arrested for marijuana possession has sued the Police Department for $30 million, contending his civil and religious rights were violated because he heads a church that uses pot during worship.

”Our congregation mandates members study the Bible, have faith in God and regularly burn the herb cannabis (The Tree of Life mentioned in the Bible) as sacrament,” according to the lawsuit filed Wednesday in state court.

An estimated 400 members pay a $100 initiation fee and $100 annual dues, which enables them to purchase marijuana for requested donations. Marijuana also is burned during some services.

Man, they must be mellow services. The pastor was ordained in the Universal Life Church. I guess their church is truly going to pot!
