What happened on Saturday?

Followers of Jesus celebrate Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.  There is a lot of history, symbolism and tradition in each of those days.  But have you ever wondered what happened on Saturday?  I would imagine that was a depressing day for the followers of Jesus. They had just lost the man who changed their lives and they were probably in hiding.   What kind of emotions do you think were running through their minds?  I wonder if they thought they had wasted 3 years of their lives?   I wonder what some of the dark thoughts were talked about among themselves?

We can look back and see that Sunday was triumphant but the disciples and his other followers didn’t know what we know.  Sure Jesus said He would rise again but I wonder if they really believed it would happen.   Maybe there are churches who celebrate Saturday but I’ve never heard of one.  I really wonder what happened on Saturday?
