Did Jesus and Peter pay tithes from their carpentry and fishing business? If they did this happily and dutifully as we are being asked to do now how come they had a problem paying the temple tax which was but an insignificant fraction of the tithe? Can someone please explain.

Today, while I was at work, my sister stole my apple ipad and tested to see if it can survive a 25 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My apple ipad is now broken and she has 83 views. I know this is entirely off topic but I had to share it with someone!

Many probably know Joel Gregory better than I, but I can say that for two years while at SWBTS, I worked under him as a Security Guard at Travi Ave. BC, and as an Intern who sat in with him in his Office. As an employee of the church, I was also given the job of picking him up at the Airport on occaision, which I always looked forward too. In my time around him, I can say I never met a more kind, pleasant, and christian man whose love for His Lord was not a part of his persona...and this was during the time when he was BGCT President. He always had time to listen to me, and I always looked to him as Pastor, even though he would say, "Jay, I am the Preacher, but time constraints make me feel like I have a great team around me who Pastor Travis Ave."...I did not "idolize" the man, but have always had a great respect for the way God has used him, and do not have a memory of the man when I couldn't see Christ in him. Like many others, it broke my heart to hear of his "Fall" as I know it did many others, but never felt it was my place to judge him....that job resides with God. The pastorate is probably the most difficult job in the world...I, myself, graduated SWBTS 1989, have pastored 8 churches in Texas and Calif. since, and now work for an oil company...as do many who were at seminary with me...so I'm always hesitant about "rock-chunkin'"..Tae a cue from Christ, and please think long and hard before throwing that stone.
